Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more if you like it extra cheesy)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic to the beef and cook until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in cabbage, tomatoes, broth, and seasonings. Mix well.
- Transfer mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese, and return to oven for 10–15 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Serving Ideas
- Serve with cornbread, rolls, or mashed potatoes
- Add a fresh green salad on the side
- Great for meal prep — reheats beautifully
